Burberry campaign: mink flat cap

burberry, flat cap, mink,How adorable is the Fall 2011 Burberry campaign?

I will always love a nice structured coat (a Burberry trench is in my “must-buy-when-I-get-rich list”), but the fur flat cap was an unnexpected accessory! I’m not a fan of hat caps, I usually find them tacky, but I would make an exception for these cuties.

Roger Vivier’s Fur Must Haves

Roger Vivier, designer fur, fur gloves, total luxe, luxury brandsEven though we are all fully absorbed in summer activities, there is no reason why not to get slightly excited about our winter wardrobes, especially if it means wearing fur pieces like these fabulous accessories by Roger Vivier. We are so happy he made a proper comeback a few years back, because since then the brand has delivered nothing but top notch shoes and bags. On that note, my favourite piece of his autumn winter 2011 is definitely the fingerless gloves, perfect for driving around in a vintage Jaguar. Or perhaps a Toyota, which is more likely to be the case.

Fur on the Catwalk: Prada AW 2011

The Prada Autumn Winter 2011 collection is all about texture: juxtaposing soft, luxurious fur collars with stiff, shiny, plastic-looking skirts. This fall collection is pleasantly colourful, and a step in the opposite direction of the camels and greys we’ve become so accustomed to for Fall. The fur, of course, was no exception. Brightly coloured collars add an interesting quality to these incredibly detailed pieces.

Prada Spring Summer 2011

Prada Spring Summer 2011 campaign, shot by Steven Meisel.

I loved Prada‘s spring summer 2011 show, the bright colours, beautiful prints, and striking silhouettes certainly made it one of the strongest of the season, so I was thrilled to see the new campaign images have been released.

My favourite pieces in the collection were definitely the multi-coloured fox skins that the models held as they strut down the catwalk. The striped foxes definitely caught my eye, I love that a designer brand is incorporating fur into its spring summer collection. And why not? A fox stole is a great alternative to a jacket when wearing a cocktail dress in the spring.
